Crochet Hooks!!! I can’t show you a picture of them all as several are attached to pieces I’m working on. (I’m actually scared to count how many part finished projects are in the works!). I have a LOT of crochet hooks! I see some pretty ones and just have to buy them.

But, over time, I have whittled down my absolute favourites to two types. They are in different materials, but are all ergonomic and comfortable to use for long periods of crocheting.

Prym

These come in sets and have a really good price point. For around the £20 mark, you get a set of 5 hooks. They come in two different sizes – 3.5mm to 6mm and 7mm to 12mm. You can also buy larger hooks individually. I have two of the 3.5mm sets, 1 of the 7mm set and a lovely dark violet 15mm hook from this range, which is currently attached to a large chenille blanket that is work in progress. They are lightweight and extremely comfortable in the hand. They have a warm soft grip and the shaft is highly polished, so absolutely no snagging as can be the case with some synthetic hooks. Just lovely to use.

Ommi

These are pretty! They are very similar in shape and design to Furls, but without the hefty price tag. Usually priced at around £9 each. Availability of sizes and colours varies. I have several of these in different colours and sizes. Some are wood, some are resin and some are a mixture of the two. These are the ones already in my stash, mostly 4mm and 5mm:
